My body trembled at the mere sight of him. My heartbeat accelerates, and a cold chill runs through my spine. I dropped to my knees as soon as he was gone, picking up the broken glass shards on the floor. My mind was all over the place when I got a sharp cut on my pinky, the sting of it called back my attention.

Lorenzo fell on the floor next to me, immediately bringing my finger to his parted lips as he licked off the blood. "What were you thinking of?! You should've paid more attention to yourself." He shunned me, frowning. I couldn't keep eye contact as I stared at his concerned face.

Where will I start? What if he doesn't understand? What if these sudden disastrous, unforeseen circumstances bring a gap in their relationship?

These deep-seated thoughts were clouding my mind as I jerked off my arm, instantly getting up on my feet.

"I'm alright," I said, forcing a smile. "I will clean this up," I said and wanted to race toward the kitchen when he held my arm.
