Forty-Two

ARIA'S POV

I stood in the elevator, going up to the top floor because of the text I received from Dave asking him to come to see him in his office when I was supposed to be having lunch in the cafeteria.

On getting to the top floor, I walked toward the office to see Dave's secretary typing furiously on his computer. "Aren't you going for lunch?" I asked him.

"I will once I'm done with this," he replied without sparing me a glance.

I pushed the door open to see Dave in his position behind his desk, typing away on his phone. "This better be important because I'm starving," I said as I stood in front of his desk.

He placed his phone on the table, giving me a sheepish smile. "Does me wanting to see you count as something important?"

"That's it, I'm leaving." I turned to walk out of the office but he quickly caught up with me and pulled me into his arms. "You can't keep doing this every day." I looked up to meet his eyes.
