Chosen One

"Eren ... Eren ..." a woman called out softly. 

"Mom...?" said Eren with a little confusion. He saw himself back to when he was six years old.

"Wh, what happened? Why did I return to my childhood? " asked Eren with a confused face.

"Come on over here honey. I have made your favorite chocolate cake" said Eren’s mother, smiling sweetly. Eren's mother waited for Eren at a dining table in her childhood home. The house looks so beautiful and shady. Still confused, Eren stepped his little feet in response to his mother's call.

"Come on, sit here Eren ..." said Eren's mother as she pulled out a chair for Eren. Eren immediately climbed into the wooden chair and now they sit next to each other.

"Let's eat this chocolate cake, while it's still warm" said Eren's mother with a smile. She served a few pieces of chocolate on a small plate. Eren took the cake and immediately took a bite of the end of the cake.

"How about Eren, how good is the cake made by Me?" asked Eren's mother, looking at Eren affectionately.

“I, it's delicious Mom ... But why are you here? It's not like you have ... ” replied Eren while chewing on his mother's cake.

“Don't talk yet. Later you choke, finish the cake first, hehe ... ” said Eren's mother, rubbing Eren's head gently. Eren immediately fell silent and obeyed his mother's words. 

After a few seconds, suddenly a great shock hit Eren's house. Eren was shocked and panicked. He immediately stood up from his chair and looked up at the rooftop of his house that looked like it was about to collapse.

"Mo, Mom I'm afraid ..." said Eren in a trembling tone. When Eren was about to approach his mother, suddenly Eren's mother disappeared from Eren's sight.

"Mom! Mom! Where are you mom?" asked Eren who looked panicked and confused. The shaking inside Eren's house is getting louder. The panicked Eren could only hide under his dining table.

“Arghhh!! Please stop!!" shouted Eren loudly. Suddenly Eren's eyes became blurry and instantly it was pitch black ...

"Cough ... Cough ..." Eren coughed. He just woke up from fainting. With a limp body and blurred eyesight, Eren looked around where he was now. Apparently Eren was in a hospital room. Medical devices attached to the bed. Do not miss the infusion tube stuck in his hand.

"Ah what happened? Why am I suddenly here? Hmm, looks like I was dreaming ... ” Eren muttered with a pale face. He tried to remember what happened before he was in the hospital room.

"Hmm, what I remember, last time I was surrounded by these beasts together with ..." Eren muttered to himself.

"Liza!" Eren's eyes suddenly bulged. He thought back to his friend who had died at the hands of the creatures. 

"Hiks hiks ..." Eren could not hold back his tears remembering one of his best friends who had died. When Eren was sad, suddenly three people came in all white clothes. The three of them were escorted by an army soldier complete with rifles. The four of them approached Eren who still looked weak.

"Good morning Eren ..." said a woman dressed in white. Eren, who was still a little dazed, just stared blankly at the woman's face.

Good morning Eren. Introduce me Doctor Catherine. How do you feel now Eren? " asked the bespectacled woman.

"O, well Doc ... What happened?" asked Eren in a slightly hoarse voice. Doctor Catherine didn't answer Eren's question. Another woman in white checks the medical support device next to the bed where Eren is lying.

"Nurse, how is Eren?" asked Doctor Catherine.

"Hmm, looks like his vital condition is fine Doc" replied the nurse.

"Eren, let me check your condition for a while," said Doctor Catherine. She examined Eren's face carefully while fiddling with her every now and then.

"Do you feel dizzy?" asked Doctor Catherine, staring intently at Eren's face.

"Um, a little ..." Eren replied slowly.

"Does something hurt in your body?" asked Doctor Catherine again.

"Looks like not Doc" replied Eren, moving his body a little to make sure his body is okay.

"Hmm, good then" said Doctor Catherine, writing on a piece of paper in his hand.

"Actually, what happened Doc? Why am I suddenly here?" asked Eren with a confused face.

“You are the 'chosen one', Eren. You are the person we've been looking for” said Doctor Catherine with a serious face.

“'Chosen one'? What do you mean doctor?" asked Eren who looked even more confused and upset.

"Calm down Eren. You don't have to panic like that. Everything's fine. You better focus yourself so that you quickly recover fully. You've been unconscious for seven days. You must be weak and hungry. What do you want to eat, Eren?" 

Eren was silent. Looks like he's still confused about everything that happened.

"We'll give you a bowl of warm porridge huh. Later we will come back again. Take care of your health Eren. Don't think too much about it, later you will get answers to all your questions. We'll take our leave, Eren” said Doctor Catherine. The four of them immediately walked out of the room where Eren was being treated.

"What happened? What does it mean if I am ‘the chosen one’?" Eren said in his heart. After Eren was left alone, he realized something.

"How come I didn't have any injuries, huh? As far as I can remember, I have been scratched and bitten by the zombies. But my whole body is clean, there are no scratches at all. What actually happened?" muttered Eren while looking at his own hands and feet.

“Finally we have found him. It seemed like a glimmer of hope to save this world had appeared. Is that correct, Doctor Richard?" said Doctor Catherine to one of his fellow doctors.

 "Yes, it is true. Hopefully Eren is the 'chosen one' we've all been waiting for. Looks like we have to immediately report this to Professor Alex" said Doctor Richard as he walked side by side with Doctor Catherine.

"Yes, I hope so ..." replied Doctor Catherine with a faint smile.
