First Conflict

After finishing physical training, the Jaguar team decided to have lunch together. The five of them went to the food court there. They sat down at one of their favorite tables.

    "What do you want to eat today, Eren?" Miyuki asked.

    "Hmm, what are you eating? I'm confused about what to eat. Because here all the food menu is available. Looks like I want to go around first," replied Eren.

    "Okay then. We'll meet again here, okay?" Miyuki said. Eren walked alone to explore the foodcourt there. That afternoon, the foodcourt was packed with Hope members from various divisions. Some wear yellow, red and blue uniforms. Eren stopped his steps right at a tenant who sells steak dishes.

    "Ah, I think I'll just eat steak. I haven't eaten steak in a long time," Eren muttered to himself. He looked at the electronic menu book that was displayed in front of the tenant.

    "Sir, I ordered a sirloin steak with mushroom sauce," said Eren to the man guarding the tenant.

    "Well. Wait a minute, okay?" The man said with a friendly smile.

    While waiting for the food to be ready, Eren looked around the foodcourt. He hadn't felt in a long time how crowded the crowd was. Because since the 'S' virus spread, public activities have been severely restricted by the government. In addition, they are also afraid to leave the house and gather to just eat.

    While Eren was waiting for his food to be ready, he suddenly heard two women whispering.

    "Hey, isn't that the new Team Jaguar member?" she asked her friend.

    "Yeah, he's wearing the Team Jaguar uniform. But he doesn't look as athletic as the others. What is his special ability? I'm so curious," replied the woman's friend. Eren wondered in his heart.

    "Are they talking about me?"

    Eren pretended not to see the two girls who were talking about him. When Eren was listening to the conversation of the two women secretly, suddenly the tenant owner called him.

    “Sir, please enjoy the sirloin steak. Waiting for his return," said the tenant owner while giving Eren a plate of sirloin steak.

    "Thank you," replied Eren. When Eren wanted to see the faces of the two women who were talking about him, it turned out that the two women had disappeared somewhere. Eren did not expect that he would be known by the other division members, considering that he had only joined Team Jaguar for a few days.

    Carrying the chicken steak he ordered, Eren returned to the Jaguar Team favorite table. The other four members were already sitting at the table with their own food. There were also several beer cans plastered on the dining table.

    "What did you order?" asked Zoya.

    "Here, I ordered a steak. I haven't had a steak like this in a long time. Since the 'S' virus spread, people find it difficult to eat like this. We often eat canned food. That's why when I find food like this again, it's like heaven for me, hehehe…” Eren said with a little laugh.

    "Yes, everyone here also thought the same thing when they first joined the Hope organization," replied Ben who was enjoying grilled chicken.

    "Yes Eren, that's why you're lucky to get in here. Not everyone can enjoy the facilities as we get now. We are the chosen ones,” said Zoya with a serious face.

    "Yes, we are the Jaguar team. We are the most important team in our organization. The life of all mankind depends on us. So if we squander this opportunity, it's better to just resign from this team," said Jacob while looking sarcastically at Eren.

    “Why are you looking at me like that? Are you having a problem with me?!” asked Eren in a high tone. Eren had been patient all this time with Jacob's attitude. But Jacob kept pressing him until Eren's emotions could not be contained anymore.

    "If so, what do you want huh?!" Jacob asked, rising from his chair. Eren who was already emotional stood up. They looked at each other with emotion. Ben, Zoya and Miyuki couldn't help but stare at their behavior.

    “From the start, you didn't like me right?!  Answer Me! Does my presence bother you?” asked Eren in a high tone.

    "I really don't like you! Is there any problem?!" Jacob answered while pushing Eren's body. Eren who was already emotional, pushed back Jacob's body.

    "You insolent!" Jacob said as he clenched his fists to hit Eren. Before Jacob threw his punch at Eren, Ben immediately intervened between the two of them.

    "It's enough! Stop it you two!" said Ben half-screaming. At that moment Jacob stopped his punches. He lowered his fist. His face still looks emotional. His breath roared loudly.

    "Stop it. What you should be fighting are those beasts. Not a fellow Jaguar team. Do you understand?!" said Ben who was standing in the middle of Eren and Jacob.

    "Yes, I understand. I'm sorry..." Eren said while lowering his head. Jacob was still silent. He still looks so emotional to Eren.

    "Jacob, do you understand?" asked Ben again.

    "Yes, I understand..." Jacob said slowly. He immediately left the table away from the Jaguar team. While Eren sat back down to calm himself.

    "Eren, you just ignore him. He is indeed a person who finds it difficult to get along with new members. Back when I just joined the Jaguar team, he was also indifferent to me. But after a while we can be friends, although not too close," said Miyuki trying to comfort Eren.

    "Yeah, I'm sorry guys. I'm ruining your meal. Next time I'll take care of my emotions," said Eren regretfully.

    "It's okay Eren. It's calculated that you train mentally" said Ben while embracing Eren's shoulder. Eren, Ben, Zoya and Miyuki continued to have lunch with him, while Jacob had nowhere to go.   

    “Oh yeah, I saw Jacob's running ability earlier. He's really fast. What is his special ability?” asked Eren while eating his sirlon steak.

    "Yeah, that's his special ability. I'll explain now. So the chosen people like us are people who have special abilities. Everyone has different abilities. Like me for example. I have the ability to have much greater power than the average person. Jacob, he has the power to run very fast. You were chosen as the Jaguar team, definitely because you have special abilities. Professor Alex couldn't have chosen just anyone to be on the Jaguar team," said Ben explained.

    "Yes Eren. I want to know what your special ability is” Zoya asked curiously.

    "Honestly, I don't know either. I'll tell you later when I find it, hehehe," replied Eren with a little laugh.
