Chapter Fifteen- Mistaken

It was indeed working and it was too good to be true. I really want it to work, but it's hard to believe it was that simple. I'm not being pessimistic but I feel that something is yet to happen and ruin everything.

It had been a few weeks since Adam had come to the house and forced me to get back on track, which is to say, it had been going wonderfully for a few weeks. The plan to go on as just good friends couldn't be working out any better, it was going so well that we got together almost every night after hours to eat a hot dog at the cafeteria near the company. Which did not please Geneva very much, who felt threatened in her role as best friend at work. We even invited her a few times and she turned them all down.

I barely had time to think about that last visit I made to my dad, and that was just as well. I know he's being well taken care of, and I know that if something happens, I'll be called as soon as possible.
