Twenty Eight

Kristen did not have to drive for long before she got to a nearby restaurant.

There was a little bit of traffic, but she didn’t mind it as much once she entered the parking lot. A sign hung in front of her saying ‘Wine, Beer and Burgers’ and that was all she needed to know to find the perfect spot. It wasn’t a particularly fancy restaurant, but when compared with the other places Kristen had been going, this place was pretty nice.

She got out of the car, locking it behind her. When she made her way towards the restaurant, she saw the doorman waiting by the door. She smiled at him and headed over.

The doorman held the door open for her. “Thank you,” Kristen said, walking through and taking in the surroundings. A hostess led her directly to a booth at the back of the restaurant, away from the windows. As she slid into the seat, some guy sitting across from her looked up and smiled at her.

Kristen contemplated if to smile back or not and decided to do the former.

He seemed very attractiv
