Chapter 50: Heartstrings

Olive's POV

Orvyn dismissed the pack and stormed into the castle, leaving Conrad and I dazed. Like a sheet of lightening spreading across a cloudy sky, I stood in awe of his abrasive decision. He's using himself as bait to save his pack, but I'm not cool with it. I'd never be. He's in for a session with me, if he thought he could shake me off his back easily.

He's not killing himself on my watch. Hell, if I let him.

Conrad and I rushed after him, hoping to speak some sense into his beclouded mind. He was sitting on a chair with his head hung, backing the entrance. The windows were open wide, inviting the frosty cold into the room.

"We need to talk, Orvyn." Conrad stood behind him, shimmering with anger.

"There's nothing here for us to talk about." He filled a cup with wine and took a sip. "My decision is final. The quicker you come to terms with it, the better for the both of you."
