33. Pandora's Box

Cassandra went to take a third serving of the chicken tacos Selena had cooked for them for dinner when she saw the cat sitting there, looking at her innocently. She tsked, sidestepping it and stared in horror as she saw colored paw print all over her floor, “Selena. Come here right now.”

“I can’t. I’m busy.”

She glanced at her. She was still sitting in a corner of the living room in front of another canvas and she rolled her eyes, “Your cat is putting paint everywhere!” “Ahh… okay.” “It’s not okay.” She frowned towards the cat and it purred at her, rubbing its head against her pants.

She leaned down, opened her hands wide and grabbed it by the stomach, hastily lifting it off the floor. She ran towards the bathroom as the cat meowed at her and she dropped it in the bathtub. She adjusted the water till it was warm, grabbed a tiny toothbrush and a towel. To her amazement, the cat was purring softly as it licked the water that was flowing.
