Chapter Seventeen

WHEN Charles said that he had no plans on letting Angelo go, he was actually doubting himself. Because as of the moment, as he stares at Angelo whose body is resting in a hospital bed, he couldn't think of anything but to let him go.

He finally understood what Wynter meant by "he will be the death of Angelo" and he now fears for the life of his beloved.

If this will always be the consequence of loving him, then I'm willing to set him free.

Charles remained in his deep thoughts and was able to come back to reality when he heard the door open. Wynter came in and sighed as she looked at her brother's swelling face, filled with bruises.

"Wyn, I'm so sorry." Charles' words came out as a whisper.

The lady let out a small smile and sat beside him. "You weren't responsible for his kidnap nor the bruises. So, don't blame yourself," she said, trying to calm him down.

"But if I just listened to you, this wouldn't have happened." Charles just wiped his face.
