Chapter 23: I won't let you go

“We’ll check to see if what the both of you claim is true, is really true. You'll be led to the waiting room while we go do that.”

She stood up slowly, a bit more confident than she had been earlier but nevertheless still afraid. Her head was jumbled with different thoughts and none of them seemed to end well.

They were led out of the room to the waiting room, detective White and the principal’s secretary staying back with them while detective Schuffer and the V.P went back to the school.

And so she sat, waiting.
