I twirled my finger, marveling at the flame that appeared on its tip. I could feel something different inside me. After my encounter with that woman weeks ago, I'd been trained by Roanna and her son; Kaleb.

At the moment, I was sure I could hold my own against any vampire. Or Rogue-brid.

I sensed a presence at that moment, just as the door kicked open and Roanna walked in. She was dressed in a flowing gown as usual.

“Mirabella dear,” Roanna smiled, going over to sit on the edge of the bed.

I was still looking at the wall. “Wouldn't you like to come out now?” I called out.

Someone chuckled, before coming out through the walls.

“I'm glad to see that your magic is improving,” Kaleb said, his eyes gleaming. He turned towards Roanna. “Mother.”

“Welcome Son,” Roanna nodded at him.

I couldn't help the sudden feeling that sprouted in my mind. It was almost as if the both of them were communicating with each other. And it made me feel uncomfortable
