“Fuck,” Qyle muttered, ruffling his hand through his hair. It was the most serious I had seen him. If the situation were any different, I'd have teased him.

“Who do you think is behind it?” He added, looking at me contemplatively.

“I'd be fucked if I knew.” I hated this. Hated the fact that the situation was spiraling out of control. And there was nothing I could do about it.

The deaths at Weasels were becoming more and more serious. I knew because I went there last night. And I was being truthful if I said I hated what I saw.

“Do you think a rogue is behind it?” He asked me.

I didn't miss a beat. “The nature of their wounds before their death is similar to that of a rogue's. But we all know that rogues can't perform spells. Or mask their trails. And I think-” I trailed off, and looked at him, knowing he'd understand.

“You think the creature you met in that alley is tied to all of these.” He finished off for me.
