Caleb POV

By the time I landed in Los Angeles, it was well past one o’clock in the morning. I could barely open my eyes by the time I got to my house. I had called Brianna before I left Arizona so I knew that I would not find her at my place when I arrived which was perfect because I needed to arrange my thoughts before I confronted her.

I decided to text her before I lost my nerve.

We need to talk. Come over to my place after work tomorrow.

At least I had a day to arrange my thoughts and figure out how I would do this without accidentally causing the end of my relationship and engagement. I went to sleep and had to wake up five hours later to go to work. I had a rather slow day which was a relief because of how sleep-deprived I felt. I survived purely on coffee and fumes.

I couldn’t wait to get home and crawl into my bed but every time I thought of the difficult conversation that lay ahead of me, I changed my mind. I left the hospital at six o'clock and got to the house thirty
