Chapter 40: Be careful

I opened my eyes slowly and adjusted my vision to the lights. I stare at the blank ceiling for two minutes before moving my head to the side

I looked around the room and I was back in the packhouse emergency room. How was that even possible? I tried to sit up but a throb in my head sent me back to the bed. That was when the memories of the explosion came in. My car and my men were set ablaze in my garage.

“ Nora,” I gasped and forced myself up from the bed. I disconnected the drip from my arm and staggered forward toward the door in my patient clothes.

I turned my head back to check what time it was, and it was exactly noon on the dot.

“ Fuck!” I cursed, at the realization that I’d been unconscious from the explosion for the past two hours.

I open the door and staggered into the hallway. I found my way to my room and pulled the patient's clothes off. I look in the mirror and there were some Burns and wounds on my chest.
