Chapter 31

She cuddled Coco to her chest, feeling all the fright in the world. Now as much as she wanted to go out and fight, she also wanted to keep a low profile. The soft knocks continued for a long time until it was almost midnight, then it stopped.

Diana's eyes were wide open and she wasn't in any mood at all. She got up when she noticed the knock hadn't resounded for another two minutes. She walked slowly to the door again. Right as she stood there, she heard a loud banging on her door and she jolted in fright, almost dropping her baby.

Diana barely managed not to gasp aloud. After the loud bang, she saw a white envelope slip under her door and she heard the sound of footsteps leaving her door. The sound got more and more distant until it faded away completely. Diana exhaled sharply. She used her foot to touch the letter and it remained in the same position. She stepped on it and it didn't move.
