ZANE’S POV

Right from the moment I heard that I would die on my coming 30th birthday, I was overwhelmed by trepidation, which Maeve’s gentle squeeze on my hand managed to calm me down a bit.

But when I heard the Seer say Maeve was my doom and also my Salvation, I couldn’t help but turn to look at her with shock and confusion.

She looked as clueless, surprised, and confused as Alpha Kelvin and I. I didn’t understand what the Seer meant by Maeve was my doom and Salvation.

How could she be both? And even if she was, why did the moon make us mates?
