Ash's POVI freeze 'Oh, Fuck! Oh, shit! Asshole! See what you made me do!?' I panic and scream in my head as I look from the phone Thor's voice is coming from to the big dummy looking at me as if I owe him some kind of loyalty. I don't know if I should first disconnect the call or shut the dummy spewing rubbish up. "God, Lucas! I told you I don't want lunch!" I find myself saying as I scramble to get my phone as if the damage has not been done. "I told you I had something important I needed to attend to on my phone and you promised you wouldn't disturb me!" After I disconnect the call I turn my angry gaze to him but he doesn't seem to notice my countenance. Fucking idiot! He doesn't know the damage he just caused since I'm sure Thor heard him speak."I don't understand. If your so-called boyfriend is so great, why did you need to hide before talking to him? Is he perhaps a– criminal?..." He asks, smiling stupidly.A criminal!? I find that word insulting and it pushes me further tow
Martha hurries in. She looks around my room in confusion as if she's expecting to see someone."What's the hullabaloo about? You and who is it?"I stand from the bed to meet her where she's standing by the door."Martha! My wolf is here! Finally!" I lift her in a bear hug and happily spin her around. "My wolf is here! I'm so happy!"Martha whoops. Beaming with joy as I set her down."That's great news. Finally child! Finally, we can go home!"Her words surprised me. "You will go home with me!?" I ask in disbelief. I didn't know how to ask her before since I thought she would prefer to stay behind with Lily who is her real family."A girl can never have too many mothers. Who will take care of my grandbabies when you all go about your official duties? Nannies?" She said so seriously I couldn't help but burst into happy tears.I engulf her in another bear hug. "I love you so much, Mom. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.""I love you too child. I love you too.""God, Sif! My heart nearly
Thor's POV"Ha! This is great!" I exclaim, pushing my laptop aside in frustration. "What?" Eric asks, standing from where he's sitting to look at my laptop screen."Hill-fucking-backside has no fucking airport, that's what!" I grit."So? How is that a problem!?" He asks, taking my laptop and sitting with it on the chair I just vacated."It says right there that train is the fastest mode of transportation to Hill-backside and it runs twice a day. In the morning and evening. That means we'll have to wait till morning.""Okay... Did you check the citizens?" He asks, typing on the keyboard."Why the hell do I need to check the citizens?""Rich citizens, Thor! If someone owns a private jet then I'm sure there's an airstrip somewhere in the town they land on. Why is it that your brain always stops functioning whenever you're anxious about your mate?"I roll my eyes at him"And?... Did you find any?" I ask impatiently but he continues typing without replying to my question."Eric!" I call
How can she be so focused on me and still not noticed I'm awake? I wonder. The way she dreamily swallows and licks her lips as if I'm a buffet meal spread out for her enjoyment makes me cringe with disgust."Shameless! Not in your wildest dreams." I say and grab the nearest pillow to cover myself with. She flushes deep red as her eyes move upward to my face."Uhh... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you, sir. I brought breakfast and uhh...""That is all. You may leave." I cut her off mid-sentence.She nods curtly and turns to leave then stops hesitantly at the door,"Umm, if you need...""No, I don't. I won't be needing anything, especially not from you." I say bluntly. Fuck being nice to the human staff. She blushes deeper red and hurries out of my room. "Jezebel!" I say and finally get up from the bed to the bathroom to take care of the damn thing. I blame Ash for this. It's all her fault. I wouldn't be daydreaming about sex and be ogled by some sex starved bitch in a hotel room if
Apart from the big teenage boy who is sitting in the far corner by the right inside the principal's office, there's no one else around. The boy who I guess is Lucas looks at us questioningly, expecting us to say or ask something but I ignore him in the meantime. 'That must be Lucas.' Eric says through the mind link as we both look around the room.'It must be...' I reply, my eyes focus on the empty sofa nearest to the picture window. 'She was certainly here. Her essence is stronger here. I wonder if that belongs to her?' I nod towards the girlish backpack sitting on the floor near the sofa.'Maybe she didn't leave like you thought. Obviously, this place is a waiting room. Maybe she's inside that room with the principal.' He says, looking at another closed door inside the office.'Yeah, maybe.' I reply, walking to where the bag is sitting. The nearer I get to the chair, the stronger the fragrance of her essence. 'This sure belongs to her.' I say and pick the bag up. Before I know wha
I hate daytime. The rise of the sun which usually brings some level of joy to others has only brought sadness to me. My suffering would usually begin with back-breaking chores as the sun rises and would go on and on while getting physically abused in the process, till late in the evening when most pack members finally retire to bed. What makes it worse is that my body is not strong enough to withstand the magnitude of pain they inflict on me, and I don't heal as fast as a normal werewolf should. I feel the impact of every blow and kick they rained on me more than I would have felt if I had gotten my wolf. I'm not a normal werewolf you see. I'm a very late bloomer. Normally, the shifting age for werewolves is fifteen years. Sixteen for late bloomers. When I didn't shift at even seventeen years, I became the omega freak who is the butt of every joke. The stress reliever for every frustrated and the punching bag for every aggressive pack member, most especially those that called themse
After the Alpha, Luna, and Beta, the Gamma wolves are the next in command in a pack's chain of command. They are the supreme protectors of a pack which puts them among the high-ranking and most respected officials of a pack. No wonder all the shifters inside the dining hall had shock written all over their faces when I didn't rush to do as the Gamma chief had commanded. They thought I'd gone crazy for having the guts to disobey a high-ranking officer of the packI squat in front of Martha's chair instead and look into her eyes that has tears in them. Martha is not a shifter. She's human, yet she treats me better than my own kind. As if she's my mother."I told you I'll make the coffee, Martha. You could have hurt yourself! You didn't even have your walking stick with you, what if you fall and break another bone?""I'm sorry child. I just wanted to help. When I saw you were already behind schedule... I - I was trying to help so you wouldn't get punished, instead, I made it worse... I
Even though my sense of hearing isn't that great, I stand still in the middle of the woods, listening with my head tilted to one side... but all I hear is silence! I become worried then since I know there's nothing like a silent night in these woods that I've been walking to and from the pack house for the past two years. It is simply not right. The night air is supposed to be dominated by the sounds of crickets and frogs. The sounds of owls that hoot every so often in the distance. The sounds of the wind that relieves the humid heat and rustle the trees, and also the occasional high-pitched howls made by amorous foxes.I feel cold chilling sensations and goosebumps all over my body as I resume walking– hurriedly this time. The only sound I can hear right now is the sound of my footsteps crunching over twigs and dead leaves and it's creeping me out. I stop walking yet again when it feels as if I'm being watched, turning around to see if there is somebody behind me but no one. 'I must
