Author's POV...

Devon shifted uncomfortably in the chair; he kept heaving every passing second. He still hasn't heard from Aria, he had tried her line, but she wasn't picking. That is, if her phone hasn't been seized. It had been thirty minutes since the truck she was in left, and from his calculations, she should have arrived at the Prowler's pack border.

Barrin couldn't help but notice the change in Devon's mood, he kept mumbling to himself, and since he returned from checking quickly on his mother, he hadn't been himself. Since he hates being nosy, Barrin thinks it's best if people tell their feelings on their own accord. Even though his friend's reaction to every passing second was distracting him, he didn't say anything.

Checking his wristwatch for the umpteenth time, Devon cursed under his breath. "I can't do this!" He let out.

"What?" Barrin inquired tiredly, dropping the pen in his hand. "Why are you acting nuts?"
