Chapter 47

Emma’s POV

Since Austin proposed to me and I said “yes”, my life is suddenly inundated with distractions.

With Laura and Jordy focusing on the wedding, and Austin being buried in countless pack work, I find that I can easily disappear for hours without being noticed.

On Saturday morning I go to the library. I think I probably hadn’t been here since the night I discovered I was a werewolf.

I sit down at a large oval table with computers dotted around, hoping that nobody is watching.

A librarian stops by my table and hands me a card and a laminated sheet with instructions on it. She doesn't stand over my shoulder, but instead just murmurs.

"Hi, Emma, what can I get you?"

She knows my name, I stare at the table, the pen stills in my hand.

"I'm here for homework. You know my name?"

"Oh yeah! You're very famous, and it's my honor to help you."

I force a fake smile. "Famous?"

"I'm a friend of Ryan, he says you may need a little help, and I've been expecting you. Follow me, please."

She lead
