Chapter 21

It was night already but I could still see the surroundings because of the moonlight above the sky. My heart seemed to stop beating for a moment as I saw his handsome face and who would have thought that someone was already behind me?

“What the hell are you doing in here?” I asked with my jaw clenched.

Alpha Jace, on the other hand, tries to come near me when I step my feet backwards. I don't want to be close to him.

“I was watching you, Margaux,” he replied.

I felt butterflies under my stomach with the words that he let go, so I shook my head to remove that thought away.

“Did I tell you to do that? Wait a minute…" I raised one of my brows while my arms crossed as I paused my sentence. “Have you not heard about what I said earlier?”

Alpha Jace held his breath as he spoke, “Yes, I do. But I wanted to make sure that you are safe. You can't stop me from worrying, Margaux. This forest was dangerous, you know.”
