Chapter 31

Tears streamed to my eyes as I was caught in Jace's arms. It just feels so good being in his arms. His warmth gave me so much joy. I want to stay forever in his arms but I know this is all wrong. There is no way I am letting my enemy near me.

But it's Alpha Jace. The man whom I loved three years ago. I admit that I am still longing for him. He was the one I wanted to be mated with and now that he was our chosen mate, why did I become this cold-hearted?

“If I just can turn back the time, Margaux, I'd rather not hurt you. But it was too late to do that. I was such a jerk for hurting you, and I have regretted very much what I've done with you.”

As Jace mumbled those words, I took the opportunity to escape from his arms but this time I had no plan of escaping. It's useless to do that because Jace will probably run after me.
