Damian's POV

"No more hiding Lilith. Let's walk out to coven; we will see Gretchen again."

"For my medication?" She asks innocently.

"Yes, that would be correct, Lil. But also because the witches love you."

"I like them too, especially Tabitha. She can show me things..." she trips over her words, sucking in a sharp breath as if she realised she had said far too much.

I wince for her, knowing if Onyx were awake, he would punish her for keeping secrets from him.

I know the witches hold powers of their own. Most of them do, and most living here keep their abilities a secret, so Onyx doesn't get wind.

Tabitha is a young witch bred here on my land. She's fourteen and gifted. That much is obvious.

She is constantly zoned out, her eyes bleeding from blue to white, and she's unresponsive.

The witches keep her in the coven, refusing for her to go to school with the others. Refusing to have her mingle.

The poor child's only friend is Lilith, and she rarely sees her.
