Chapter 59 The First Line of Defence

As soon as the last of the Alpha’s and their men arrived at the packhouse, I briefed the late arrivals and we began to finalize the preparations to move out. They were allowed one night of good sleep to recoup their energies from a long journey here but at first light, we set out.

Even I had to admit our convoy of vehicles looked impressive as they rolled across the countryside to where the Alpha King of Gaia was surely headed and an uneasy silence had settled over us as we drew nearer to our destination.

Fighting was never fun, but defending our land was necessary.
