Chapter 85

Renee’s POV

I awoke gasping for air alone in the back of a van, my head was pounding, and it was impossible to think straight. Esther said it wouldn’t be easy and she was right, I felt sick to my stomach, dizzy, lightheaded, and to top it off I was seeing about four of everything. Everything that had happened felt both real and like a dream, I could still feel a searing pain in my chest, although I could not see anything wrong with it. I crawled to the back of the van and pushed the door open the rush of fresh air felt refreshing for a moment before the contents of my stomach came surging forward. I gagged and heaved, I felt my balance shifting and I began to fall out the back of the van.

“It’s ok Renee, I got you” I felt two hands on my shoulders holding me steady, I rolled my head back to see Victor. He wouldn’t come into perfect focus, but I swear he had a bunch of stick pieces sticking out of his body.
