A Mom's Rejection

"It's going to be all right, Ezra," I told myself. And I was like a fool talking to myself on my way back to my apartment.

"Is everything all right, son?" the cab driver asked. "I could not help but notice you keep on heaving a sigh. Work problem if I may ask?"

How I wish that would be the case. However, it was more than that. So, I heaved an abrupt sigh for the last time and smiled at to cab driver who I found very nosy.

"Yeah," I nodded, "You know, rich people's attitudes."

As soon as I reached my apartment, I was taken aback to find that the door was slightly open. And I could sense someone's movements inside.

"Mom?" I blurted out upon seeing her seating in silence in the corner. "How did you know that I live here? And how did you get in?"

Mom greeted me with a smile before she replied, "Finally, you're here now. I thought I'd be sleeping in your apartment alone tonight. Your brother told me your address and the landlady saw me standing in front of the
