Lilah

Stretching out on the large bed, I could already sense that something was off. I felt odd. Nothing like I did after the first time I was in heat. This was different.

Wandering into the bathroom I stare at myself in the full length mirror. I looked the same. Nothing seemed to be out of place. Yet, I could not get rid of the odd feeling. Maybe it was being back here that was making me feel off?

Quickly dressing, I make my way down the stairs looking for Colt.

“You’re looking well.”

Magnus makes me jump. “I didn’t know you were back.” I stutter in surprise.

“It seems that I am not the only one who needed to think things through. If you are looking for my nephew, I believe he is dealing with a visitor at the gate.” He turns his back on me and slams the office door.

“That was weird.” I mutter as I hurry out the front door. A few new houses had been built since I had last been here, but nothing else had changed. I spot Kaitlin running after one of her boys. She was yelling at him as
