Chapter 18

Amber woke up to feeling something heavy on her chest. She slowly opened her eyes and suddenly froze to her spot. She is in Devlin’s room. She saw his hand on her chest. Slowly, she moved herself to look at Devlin.

To her relief, he is still sleeping soundly. She slowly removed his hand from her chest. Then, carefully got off from his bed.She walked on tiptoes until she reached the door. She slowly turned the knob afraid to make any sounds that would wake him up. The moment she got out of his room, she let out a deep sigh.

‘That was close.’ She said to herself. She went to her room to check her phone. It is half an hour past six in the morning. She decided to get ready for the day. She did her daily exercise for half an hour this time. Then, she proceeded to make breakfast for Devlin. She made a special chicken soup for him. She also made some toasted bread, fried some eggs and bacon.
