Chapter 25

Gwen was aware that she gave off the appearance of being a tourist, but she couldn't help but stare as Phil led the way toward one of the casinos. She was aware of Las Vegas and had seen images of it on the internet, on television, and in movies; yet, she was blown away by the city itself. The roads were clogged with motor vehicles, cabs, campers, and recreational vehicles; the sidewalks were packed with people, many of whom were inebriated, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the time of their life. She saw everyone from men and women dressed in flip-flops and shorts to guys in ties and suits, women in dresses and heels, and everything in between. She also saw everything in between.

The lobby of the hotel featured opulent decor throughout. Her steps were muffled by the imported carpeting.
