5. Is he that scary looking?

Rain started to pour heavily. The patter of water falling on the floor and the smell of musky ground wafted in the air, creating a fuzzy atmosphere while the whole greenery around the manor made things more pleasing to the eyes.

Yang looked regal and godly in the black coat he wore which reached past his shin. There were visible slight droplets on his long raven hair and his under eyes were kohled perfectly black, defining his already slit eyes.

His countenance was sharp and chiseled while his maroon lips were pursed in indifference.

His aura spoke of danger and authority. His facial expression gave out the sense of soreness in his mood and he barely looked approachable when the manor's servants bowed at him respectfully.

He didn't bother acknowledging them as he stormed inside the main courtyard, his steps loud and clear when a sudden thunder struck above the sky, creating a booming noise but then his ear also caught on an unfamiliar feminine voice which yelped in surprise and then it sounded as if something steely fell on the ground.

Sounds of birds restlessly flapping and chirping reached his sharp ears and that's when his eyes fell on a small figure of an unknown girl crouched down on the corridor.

His eyes visibly dilated when he saw her beautiful face which was morphed into an apologetic expression.

And as if a proof of him being a man, his eyes squinted as they slowly and intentionally traveled to her feminine curves and her smooth legs which were exposed to his eyes in a sinful manner because of her slit cheongsam dress.

Men will be men.

He was surprised but more than that, he was fascinated by her unrealistic beauty.

Who is.. she?

The unknown girl spoke to the birds, her soft voice laced with gentleness when she asked if they've gotten hurt and how sorry she was for getting them startled like that.

All this while, Yang couldn't take his eyes off her nor move a muscle as he watched her unaware self talking to the birds and then opening the cage to check whether they were injured due to falling down.

He saw it when her lips heaved off a sigh of relief when she made sure that none of them got hurt and giggled, saying that she won't make any more mistakes and that she will keep them in her bedroom for today as it is going to rain soon.

Her bedroom?

Maybe as if feeling his eyes raking all over her beauty, she finally looked up at him.

"..." Him.

"..." Her.

A moment of brief silence passed while none of them spoke but the silence was soon cut short when came a sound of her little surprised yelp.

"Ah!"

Ah?

"..." Baffled, he watched as she hid her face under the palms of her hands, looking so scared as though she'd seen something horrific and horrendous.

Is he that scary-looking?

He raised an eyebrow.

She was looking for a place to hide and to his utter surprise, instead of coming up with running she chose to hide herself under the nearest place possible and that was behind the curtains as if that'd help in any way.

"..." Yang.

He observed her silently. She was not lifting up her eyes as she looked down, hiding most of her face as if her whole life depended on it.

What is going on?

Hearing her yelp, he noticed the head maid run towards them as she approached the unknown girl behind the curtains. "Mistress, what happened? Are you alright?"

His eyes constricted in disbelief, hearing the way she was addressed by the head maid.

Well?

As if spotting her only savior, the girl hid herself behind the head maid's back before pointing toward him in a scared manner as if he was a bandit that had come to rob her off or something.

"T-Thief." A soft mumble too hard to hear.

Okay? He playfully squinted his eyes at her.

That was a first.

When the head maid noticed him, her eyes widened in surprise and she quickly bowed her head before greeting him in a calm tone.

"Master."

The man nodded, still a bit taken aback because of the earlier comical event which unfolded. However, something more unexpected happened when the unknown girl, apparently his wife, ran away from the hall as if being chased by demons.

"..." Him and the head maid.

Okay, that was something new.

The head maid looked more perplexed and flabbergasted.

So, what on actual earth was that all about?
