Chapter Forty-Two - A Promise To Him

Zephyrus’ POV:

After the phone call, I felt relieved. Hazel would stay with Lena until I returned. I wanted her to accompany me, but I changed my mind at seeing Hera’s disturbed state. However, Hera’s behavior towards my mate worried me. I didn’t address the issue now since Hera wasn’t in her right senses, but if it continued, I would definitely have to talk to her. Lena was my fated mate, and I would always stand up for her, even against my sibling, if she was wrong.

We flew over the dark, looming, mountainous terrain towards Hay River in silence. Leandros and Lyra were exceptionally quiet since the time we boarded my helicopter. Hera looked relieved as she rested with her eyes closed.

I wanted to meet Lena before I left, but with Leandros waiting outside, I couldn’t take the risk. I had expected Leandros to escape with Lyra. Anything was possible for him! I knew his reckless nature so well! Thankfully, he didn’t, or Hera would have driven me crazy.
