I open my eyes to the new bright day and realize that the last night did not help me feel better. I still feel a heavyweight on my chest.

I feel pain inside me, and I do not know how to deal with that feeling.

When I suddenly hear soft, discreet knocks on my door, I am lost in my thoughts, and I know it is my dear Una.

After all these years, I have learned to recognize each time by whom the various knocks on my door are. I smile.

"Come in, Una," I tell her, and immediately after, she opens the door and comes in carrying clean water for my morning wash as she does every morning.
