He came into the class with a wide grin on his face. Sisily arched her eyebrows at me. I shrugged my shoulders.

He sat on the desk behind us, "It was a phone call from my mother. She's the only good person. I love her." His smile didn't disappear. First-year students aren't allowed to keep their phones.

I relaxed when I heard him. "Everyone loves their mother." I told him, matching his grin.

"I don't know. I never knew the love of the parent. But I love my grandpa and Daniel. They are my family." Her smile was matching ours but I couldn't neglect the pain and sadness in her eyes.

"My mother is gonna love you." I told her.

She nibbled on her lower lip. "I'm nervous. Jace hasn't talked to Carla and Charles yet."

"You shouldn't worry about it. They're gonna love you." My gaze was turning to the door. The professor hasn't come yet.

She drew her face closer. "You ain't getting it. I'm six years older than him."
