As he said, he was leaning against the wall with his alpha friends. He pushed himself ahead, straightening his back as I paced toward the classroom.

Aidan was a few steps ahead of me. "Ember, Have you solved this?" He pointed at the last sum in his book.

"Um, yes." I pulled my backpack forward to unzip it. My eyes averted away from him as I unfurled it and took out my notebook.

"Thanks," He grabbed it and rushed ahead, striding into the class.

Darkice didn't try to hit him. It was a relief.

"Hey," He said, running his hand through his silky long hair.

"Hi," I started to get nervous, biting my bottom lip with my head held down. I don't know what to say or do.

"You'll sit with me." His arm came around me.

"I don't think it's a good idea. I'm sitting with Aidan." I muttered.
