A hand touched my arm and I flinched away from him in shock and fear. My eyes met his fire-flashing eyes. His hand wrapped around my upper arm. He pulled me behind him. His arm was curling around me securely. "What are they?" The hair along the back of my neck stood to attention in the warning. "Fucking piece of shits don't die." I heard someone shouting in exasperation. "They taste like venom." Another shout filled the tense air. I heard loud shouts of fear, many comments over these things, and complaints that they weren't dying. I couldn't peel my eyes away from the black hole. Fear gripped my bones when I saw a shadow coming out of it. It terrified me more when my eyes lifted up at the sky. The sun was covered with the darkest clouds. Am I in my nightmare? After staring at it I realized they were shadows covering the whole sky. Fear raced through me. "Darkice, they're not clouds." I pointed my finger at the sky.
I stood up out of shock. I darted my eyes around and there was no one in the room. It was only me. How could he suggest it to me when he wasn't around me or in my room? "How did you do that?" I asked him, still running my eyes around. 'Your eyes.' "Explain, please? How are my eyes helping you?" 'I can see what you're seeing." I heard him. My eyes widened like saucers. "And what else have you seen? " I was in the shower and right now wrapped in a towel. My cheeks heated. 'I won't until you turn eighteen.' "I didn't mean that. I..." I squeezed my eyes. I wouldn't mind if he would see me. 'You don't wanna get late.' He reminded me. "Yes," I plucked the black dress and rushed to the bathroom again. I paced out of the room with a smile. It's a beautiful black midi dress, my hair is down, a little makeup like usual, natural pink lips. I didn't hear him after that in my head. I took the stairs. "Good morn
I got on my feet but I couldn't move. I stared at his back in shock. I felt a soft touch on my arm. "Are you okay, Em?" Sisily asked. "I brought you this. Do you want something else?" Aidan asked us. "You don't need to do this, Aidan." Dejectedly, I slammed down. "She doesn't look ok." Aidan got in his seat. "What happened? You can share." Sisily muttered. "You know what's happening?" I leaned closer. "Everyone knows. The Alpha king and his betas are going to the Dark World. No one was injured. But we don't know what the future has in store for us." Aidan muttered, resting his arms on the table and he leaned forward. "No one knows that, Aidan." She said. "Ember," I turned, hearing my name. My smile broadened seeing him. "Dad," I jumped on my feet and embraced him. "Congratulations," He kissed my head and patted my back. "Thanks. I thought you'd come the next day, I didn't even see Mother." I complained.
The relief I felt walking out of the headmistress's office turned into icy dread. My feet were slamming against the ground as I ran away without knowing where I would go. I kept running until my feet stopped near a familiar place. I have been here twice and it wasn't pleasant. I heard the leaves moving on my left side. I turned and saw him looking at me with his poker face. "You're crying." he tilted his head, and I couldn't ignore the tightening of his jaw. I hesitated but I forwarded and curled my arms around his middle. "Do you know?" I asked. His arm came around me. He lifted me off the ground. "You met my brother today?" He asked. I pulled my head back. "Did he tell you in your head? That's not fair. I don't have powers like you all. That doesn't mean you're going to treat me like this as if I don't exist." I sobbed, lowering my chin. "You're thinking too much." His fingers brushed on my cheeks and he tucked the locks o
He caught my hand as the warmth of his hand wrapped around me. We walked silently at some distance. He turned to another door. I thought it would be one of his friend's houses. We halted in the living room. Everything was dark in the house. 'It's his house.' I heard him in my head. My gaze snapped to him. I stared at him in complete and utter shock. His gaze was fixed ahead of him. "What do you mean?" I uttered in shock. 'His' He made me walk with him and we took the stairs. The stupid but very important machine of my body began to pound every time something shocking and surprising happened. My gaze darted around us. Everything was mostly black. I understood what he meant by him. "Dastien?" I asked. He nodded, still not peeling his gaze away from his path. He was so focused on whatever was running in his head that no one would say that he was romantic a few minutes ago. The main door wasn't locked, nothing was locked here. H
My cheeks turned crimson recalling everything that happened. I could only nod my head. "So, do you believe in mates or do you have the same ritual?" "Same. I hope she won't get jealous of my beautiful friends." He chuckled. I smiled. "That's not going to happen. If she'll love you, she'll trust you too." "This weekend," He hurried his steps forward and opened the door for me. "You don't need to do this," I told him. "I'm a gentleman." He slightly bowed his head. "I'll punch you next time if you dare to bow. I'm your friend, not a queen." "Alright. Don't get upset." "I'm not. What were you saying" "Next week, there is a secret masquerade ball in our academy. Should I get passes for us?" He asked. "Do you think Sisily would come?" After seeing her in gloom today I wasn't certain she wanted to socialize." "Why wouldn't she?" He frowned looking at me as I was going to hit him. "Then ask it yourself."
I was just staring at the screen, not actually watching the movie. I could hear them. murmuring next to me. No one was paying attention to the screen but their talk revolved around only one topic. Them. They haven't contacted any of us yet. It's eating me from the inside. I wonder how I could care about him so much. We just met. He's my mate. That changes my entire world. The mattresses were laid on the polished wooden floor. There was a giant hall. A big screen was mounted on the wall, almost fifteen feet away from us. Their mumbles felt like a lullaby to me. My eyes closed against my desire. I was waiting for him. I was expecting any minute hearing him in my head. I jerked as I was feeling sleepy. The will was so strong I couldn't hold back as I drifted off. Gloom and sadness could be seen from afar on our faces. But everyone smiled, pretending to be normal but we all knew deep inside that we were keeping on a s
I jumped out of the car when Justice pulled into the parking lot. "Thanks," I pushed a smile on my face. One thing that was amazing about staying with Wolves is that I didn't need to shout. "Anytime, Ember." I was so lost in missing him that I forgot all about the book. The more I know the better for me. The hall was empty. "Emersyn!" Her voice was describing happiness. I don't know what I did to earn so many good people in my life. I am grateful. " How was your day, dear?" Rhi asked "It was fine, Rhi." I smiled at her. "Where are all?" "Mr. Dawson is out for a pack meeting and Luna is with him." She said smilingly. "Is everything alright? There's no attack, right?" I asked worriedly. "Yes, nothing to worry about. Would you like to eat something, dear?" She added immediately. "Yes, please. Can I get hot chocolate, Rhi?" Her feet turned to the kitchen. "You don't need to ask. I'll be in your room." She said.
