Devin showed up to come pick us an hour later like he had promised. I was still getting the hang of the new phone I had gotten from the store.

"Whose phone is that?" I asked Ryan after he had picked up the problem causing phone from earlier.

"It doesn't matter, I should find the owner at the party, it was rude of me not to return it Anyways."

"Yeah I guess so."

I had a feeling that he was trying to avoid telling me who it was and I didn't want to make myself unhappy for any reason, "Devin, is it just me or you don't seem that pumped for the party

"I mean I am but the thing with me is I get really drunk sometimes and these parties can go all the way into midnight, which usually leaves me feeling very tired before work but the good thing is since it is the second-in-command birthday this time there should be some kind of break for us tomorrow because almost everybody will be there except for children and some other wolves.

"Oh," I shrugged and we spent the rest of the drive in silence.
