Chapter 3

**TYLER**

When my Dad mentioned he had found his second chance mate, I didn't believe it. None of my brothers did either. We thought, hell, the old man is lonely and is beginning to imagine things.

Our first idea had been to get him a girl that will act as his pet, always coming to the mansion to see to his bedroom needs. However, he surprised us one night by showing us a diamond ring and telling us he was going to propose to her.

We didn't say anything but looked at ourselves in dismay, only then realising that Dude was serious.

Three days later, he informed us they were getting married the next week but are moving in this week.

But, he never mentioned she had a daughter. Until yesterday.

When he had linked with us to come home and meet them, like me, my brothers were gobsmacked. However, we knew better than to disobey my father. He was that kind of man.

So, here I am walking in this morning not only to meet the most beautiful blondie I have ever laid my eyes on but for my wolf to declare she's our mate.

Her brown Doe eyes widen as we walk in, her pink plump lips parting to take the food in her spoon, but suspends at seeing us.

I pretend to keep my cool, forcing my eyes to remain on my plate, but from time to time, I find myself observing her calm exterior wondering what is going on through her little head. Does she feel what I am feeling now?

Dad is saying something, but, damn, I am not interested. I can't wait for this fucken breakfast to be over so I can properly introduce myself to my angel. Stepsister or not, I am kissing those lips.

I pick up my glass of water and this time force myself to pay attention to what my Dad is saying only because he is pointing at me.

"Tyler here is a baseball player and the face of the New York City baseball team globally. He is even the head of the team in the WOLFIE ACADEMY where they school." He keeps yapping until he says, "and you will be joining them there after your eighteenth birthday."

I choke on my water and look at Dad. "S-she's going to school at the academy?" I can't help but ask. This kind of girl can't withstand the turbulence present in WOLFIES. she looks too soft to be exposed to such an environment.

"Yes, Tyler," Dad drags. "Any problem with that?"

"No, Dad, not at all. I thought maybe she should go to a proper school, you know, like the other girls." Dad growls. I lift my hands to show my submission.

The Wolfie Academy is a special school for wolves with special abilities. Not all kind of wolves. There is Wolfie Academy, everyone is razz, crazy and despises following the rules. It's the kind of school that breaks you if you are not strong enough and from what I see, my dear mate looks like a twig that can be destroyed without even trying.

Dad keeps rambling, "Scarlet is your step-sister and from henceforth she is your responsibility, which is why she will join y'all in Wolfies. Y'all are to protect her at all costs, from the wild people out there. Plus, your stepmother is a professor there. There is no reason for Scarlet not to be in the school."

"Of course, father, whatever you say," I drawl sarcastically and grab my spoon to dig in.

Kendrick kicks my feet beneath the table and I glare at him.  "Stop being sarcastic. You promised." he hushes.

I smile. I hardly keep promises. "I try."

"So, as I was saying, Scarlet." Dad faces Kendrick. "Kendrick here is very good with the tables and keeping counts. He is in business school and from his scoresheet, I hear he is graduating with first class." Kendrick starts coughing, but Dad didn't stop. "He is taking after my business when I retire." He gives Kendrick a disapproving stare as I spy Elizabeth taking his right hand to squeeze on the table.

Elizabeth is quiet and sweet. She is beautiful with the right curves, smart and always knows what to say at the right time, and overall, a mom material. Nevertheless, I have a problem with her pup. She has no right bringing such perfection into this world.  And now, she is my step-sister.

"And lastly," Dad points at Wolfie. "This is the last twin, Wolfie. Ignore his calmness, he has his moods." Wolfie scowls. Typical of him. "...he is an artist and loves nothing more than sitting behind his canvas all day painting and sculpting goddess knows what." He laps his hands together and beams as his eyes skim around everyone. "As you can see these are your brothers and they will do everything to protect you, I can assure you."

Elizabeth takes her daughter's hand, her sunset-brown eyes meeting Dad. "Did I tell you Scarlet wants to study business management too?"

Kendrick snaps his eyes up at once to look at her. I grin. Suits him. Babysitting duties call. "Is that a girl thing?" His eyes were wide.

"Anyone can be a business guru, son. Don't sound misogynistic." Dad flashes Scarlet a toothy grin. "Is that true, baby girl?"

Baby Girl?

Scarlet looks like the ground should open and swallow her. Her flawless face looks at her mom and then at Dad, trying very hard to avoid looking our way. The freckles on her face makes her look like a doll. Something I know makes other girls look unattractive yet fits her perfectly.

"I-I-I am still thinking."

Her mother's subtle chuckle rang in the room. "C'mon, baby. You said it yourself you would like to go to a business school. She even had an A grade in accounting."

"M-mom, stop it," she whisper-yells, shaking her head. She must be very shy.

We continue rattling until breakfast comes to an end and Dad stands to leave with Elizabeth. He regards us and then Scarlet. "Sons, you can keep your sister company and don't forget to take her back to her room afterwards."

"Of course, Dad," We say in unison.
