I could barely believe we got the job especially with how Hyacinth had been so eager yo ruin the whole thing with her speech.

The highlight of my day had to be calling Ray that afternoon just so I could tell him to fuck himself.

I felt great after the short uplifting conversation. I felt more than great. I felt super-duper good.

My adrenaline rush was off the charts. I could jump out of a fucking plane screaming until my lungs popped (which would have been something since I'd always been scared of heights).

Hyacinth watched me with a worried expression on her gorgeous face. "You look like you're about to do something stupid."

I shrugged. "Define stupid."

"Let's see." She clicked away on her phone. "What do we have here– Stupid, a verb. It says it's something you definitely shouldn't do because you're going to regret it."

I smirked at her and said, "That's where you're wrong." Moving close enough to kiss her. "I live life without regrets, baby."

Almost without regrets, I thought.
