Chapter 37

"Your idiotic friend refuses to sign the papers!" While Lucas was speaking over someone on the phone, he blurted out. As soon as Ryleigh left the room, Lucas dialed Abby's number.

She is the reason he has been ignoring Rye for days. And he has tremendous self-control not to touch Rye.

"Just make an effort to persuade her, Carter. I have completed my portion and she has requested a month."

“What? If I cannot obtain her signature, I may as well torment her till she relents."

"Don't you dare, Carter !” Abby cautioned with clenched teeth.

"However, it is the only one I am familiar with. Damn it!" Lucas expletive and rubbed his hand across his face in frustration. He cannot explain why he is following Abby. Perhaps one of the reasons is that he trusts the girl and believes she can force Rye to divorce him.

The scenarios, though, are driving him nuts. He desires to touch Rye and punish her, but Abby's threat prevents him from doing so.
