I stared at Mel in surprise because she suddenly became like a different person. One minute, she was uncomfortable and a little upset, and the next minute, she was smiling at me and placing her hand on my chest.

If only she knew what such close proximity with her was doing to me. I was attracted to her without a doubt, I had been from the moment I set my eyes on her.

Nevertheless, I knew she saw our marriage as a temporary arrangement and even though I wished otherwise, I did not want to get my hopes up.

It was true that I still loved Gia. She was my first love and for years, I thought she was dead, I blamed myself and kept her memory precious, but we'd been apart for far too long and I did not want to complicate my life by trying to pursue anything with her.
