Chapter 78: Follow the rules

Without saying anything to the team, he led her out of the room as they were already running late.

His phone rang before he could say anything to Mabel and he had to answer as it was a call from his dad.

“Yes, Dad, I'm about to leave,” Mabel heard Christian say and it made her realize that he was talking to his father. It wasn’t until they got to the car did he get off the phone.

“Good, now that we’re here, let’s lay some ground rules,” He turned to face her, and Mabel’s heart sank as she had expected him to compliment her. It wasn’t every day she looked this stunning.

“Number one, you’re there to act as my date and your main duty is to keep other women as far away from me as possible,” he started.

“I can’t control what they do or do not do,” Mabel pointed out. She was a nobody, a pest at the bottom of the rich chain, there was no way she would be able to do what Christian was asking her.
