Be the Prettier Lady

Two weeks later, Rosetta and Lucas were in the Capital of Aelton, named Evening, with half of Duke Riverdale territory but the most densely populated region in the entire kingdom.

Got two days left before the party, Rosetta uses it to meet fellow Ladies. Gossiping about things, even exchanging information.

Though the girls smiled and laughed at each other, they secretly competed strictly to show who would be the center of the party.

Tonight, the debutante party is being held in the palace hall. Dozens of nobles from all over the Kingdom were present, simultaneously ending the social season and welcoming the fall.

Rosetta spent two hours in the bathroom. The water has a floral scent and red rose petals sprinkled with a great fragrance.

“Lady, tonight I risk my life to make you the most beautiful girl in the whole kingdom!” Flora says, eager to comb the red hair of Rosetta that reaching her waist.

“I prefer to be called gracious and charming than beautiful,“ Rosetta replied as I looked at the jeweled boxes indicated by one of the maids.

“My gosh, you already have those two words in you.“ Flora joyously laughter. Her hand quickly took a pin and a ribbon.

Rosetta glanced sideways. A headless mannequin displaying a dark red dress that is exquisite. Unlike her dream, on this debutante Rosetta will wear that dress, not a black dress whose color is like a nightmare. The chosen ornament also does not look like in her dream.

“Everything must be perfect,” thought Rosetta with a slight smile and then had the maid dress her.

Three hours later, Rosetta stood confidently in front of a mirror. Flora incessantly praised the beautiful Lady she was serving. She also mentioned that being on Rosetta’s side is luck.

“Stop it, flora. You don’t have to go that far,” said Rosetta, before Flora runs out of breath due to the praise.

“No, even me women fall for your charms. The other boys will!“ shouted Flora. Her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm at her Lady.

 “Lady Rosetta is so pretty!”

Well, what Flora says is far from wrong. A dark-red dress is studded with beads consisting of pearls and white gems. The breast and sides are golden-colored, which are also covered with pearl powder. It glistens in twos.

Not only that. Wearing the sleeveless satin dress also exposes the white and clean Rosetta’s neck and shoulders. There’s nothing wrong with her skin. A choker of satin ribbons and a pink jewel necklace around the neck of the band, addressing the degrees of Rosetta as the future Duchess Riverdale.

“I shall not lose to anyone!“ murmured Rosetta, smiled in front of the mirror.

Her face had natural makeup. Not diminish her beauty. Moreover, her thin lips seem more sensual when applied with lip balm from the scented rose.

“Ah! The perfume, I almost forgot!” said Flora. Rushing to grab a bottle of perfume and shower her Lady with five sprays.

“Well, well,” says Rosetta. Already over satisfied with her performance tonight.

After that, Rosetta comes out of the room. Lucas and the three guards are waiting. She blushing when saw her lover’s appearance. Oh, no. Lucas was much more perfect.

That young man’s golden hair was neatly combed back. Lucas was also twice as handsome as usual. The stern jaws are clean from the sideburns. His straight nose also looked very beautiful. The thick lips that used to be kissed are more enticing.

The Duke’s formal dress consisted of a white shirt trimmed to the top and encircled by a cravat, a black vest, and a maroon suit matching his fiancee’s gown. A pin on Carleton’s family crest stuck in his pocket.

It’s like Rosetta’s fallen in love again the umpteenth time.

“Are you ready, My Lady?” asked Lucas, bending the elbow and letting Rosetta hold his hands around.

“Yes, My Lord. Let’s go,“ replied Rosetta. Her smile grew wide.
