45: The Tale of Betrayal

In the eye of the world, the Bianchi and Ricci families were friends and business partners. The alliance between the two families enjoyed the monopoly of the market for almost a century. For the world, they were inseparable but as the generation succeed, the greed to enjoy the sole monopoly rot the relationship between the two clans – still in the eyes of the world, they pretended to be one unit, whereas behind the curtain the families schemed to take one another down. Their disapprobation for each other was never apparent – not even to each other’s faces or in private. Both families hold a sweet knife at each other’s throats. (A/N: Sweet knife is used as an idiom in some cultures. It roughly translates to sugarcoat the deception.)
