CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR

CATARSE

Patrícia's office was small, pleasant, and very simple. It didn't have many furnishings, only two chairs leaning against the wall, a wide chair with a high backrest and comfortable arms to lean on in front of the psychologist's wooden and glass desk. Only two modern art frames hung on opposite walls of Patrícia's desk, a fluffy white carpet placed below the desk and chairs, a large window covered with a dark blue velvet curtain. Lara imagined that from the window, one could have a good view of the city below.

"Please, have a seat, Lara. Make yourself comfortable," said Patrícia.

Lara sat down shyly, feeling out of place, staring at the closed curtain.

"I imagined there would be a couch here," she said, nonchalantly, still not looking at Patrícia.

"Do you think it would be good to have a couch here? We can consider it. Who knows, maybe next time you come, we'll have a couch here," replied Patrícia.

"I'm not sure if there will be a next time, actually. I regret coming here," sai
