Chapter 54

Cyrus could see the uncertainty that was on Riella's face and the confusion that she had when he sat down beside her. He was hurt because he knew that he was the one that put it there and he had no one to blame for it but himself.

Luther was right, he should stop pushing away his mate just because he was scared and not ready to tell everyone he loved her.

He wanted to reach for her but he didn't know how Riella would take it.

He prays that she doesn't realize that it's desperation that's fueling this so that she wouldn't betray them to her grandmother.

He cleared his throat when he saw that Riella was staring at him as if she was waiting for something.

"What?" He mumbled quietly as Riella repeated;

"I asked if everything was alright with you. You seemed distressed for a moment there." She pointed out as Cyrus ran a hand through his hair.

"Yes, I am, Sorry that you have to catch me unaware. I just wanted to spend time with you today. If it's okay with you." He said, his eyes wavering
