Chapter 58

Liz POV

I fell asleep in the comfort of Deimos’s arms last night. After I confessed that I loved him, I expected him to make love to me again, but he didn’t. Instead, he stripped us both down to our underwear and led me to the bed. He wrapped me in his arms and fell asleep quickly.

But I didn’t fall asleep as quickly. I laid in bed and worried about what my father said. He warned me that Deimos was evil and that he couldn’t be trusted. He believed everything that Nico said and made it clear that he would never support Deimos as an Alpha. Nothing I said could make him change his mind.

Finally, I blurted out that I loved Deimos. My father called me a fool. Told me that Deimos was just using me for sex. That is when I stormed out of the kitchen with tears flowing down my cheeks.

My father has never spoken to me that way before. He has never been disappointed in me before. It hurt, but it hurt more to think about not being with Deimos.
