Chapter 10

Nick had to admit, Goldman’s idea was genius. Nick had seen Jackie as soon as they hit the door. Her mouth had dropped open at the sight of him with the triplets. He also enjoyed the attention they were giving him.

When they had made their way to the table, Jackie glanced up. It was quick, but Nick had caught it. When Bambi had plopped down in his lap, Jackie had squinted her eyes. It was working.

Bambi fed him mozzarella sticks. Mandy got behind him and started massaging his shoulders. Candy scooted closer to them and started rubbing his hands. Nick should have started hanging out with Goldman on the weekends years ago.

The triplets were friends of Goldman’s, of course. He met them in Houston when he had worked on the police force there. His tenure had been short, but he had the pleasure of meeting the sisters during a training exercise.

Luck would have it, they were in Phoenix on a layover to L.A. Goldman had asked them to help Nick out with making the woman he really wanted jealous
