“Then it’s settled, we can reach Black Water Pack by sunset if we leave now,” Nicolas said to Regina. There was whistling coming from the gates as the horses came trodding in. Regina and Nicolas ran to catch them. Regina spotted Derek’s note addressed to Alice. She opened it.

Nicolas lead the warriors down a path through the forest, following track marks left behind by Ty and the others. Just as they were about to head up the stairs, there was enormous boulder that crashed threw the hall way. Pieces of wood went flying in all directions and part of the floor collapsed. The group piled into the cramped staircase and headed up to the attic. Another boulder came crashing in, taking out another part of the floor. They hurried out the small window onto the roof. They were severely outnumbered as arrows shot at them in every directions. They stayed shielded by the window momentarily, unsure of their next move, when another boulder came crashing through the first floor. The roof collapsed and sent them stumbling down.

It had been raining now, for three days straight. Azura had not awaken yet, but Ty slept with her every night. She was placed in her room and James visited her everyday to check the stones. Still a faint blue the stones remained. She had healed herself on the first night, but Regina suggested that it must have taken a grand amount of energy to bring the land back to life and so she might just need extra rest. “Regina, what sort of powers did my parents have?” Azura asked her while lounging on the couch in her office. Regina looked up from a short stack of papers she had now spread across her desk and glanced at Azura’s growing belly. It was a morning like any other. Regina was having her morning run when something repulsive invaded her nostrils. “Yuck,” Regina said out loud as she looked around her to see where the smell was coming from. She assumed it was a dead animal or skunk and headed back to the house for a bath. She turned on the furnace and got the water going, when again she smelled the horrific scent again. “Ugh!” she shouted as she saw the tub filled with dirty green water. She got dressed and headed to the lake. When she arrived, she saw dead fish floating in the water and a bunch of blackened green algae covering the surface.

Azura laid on her soft bed alone when her eyes slowly opened. She rolled to her side only to find her mate missing.
