Is this the karma they were referring to?

My shoulders slumped as I stood in front of Aiden's unit door. I have been knocking repeatedly, but no one opens the door. I have been calling his name over and over, but no one is answering.

"Aiden? Please, talk to me! Open this door, please? Aiden!" I said while I kept on banging on the door with my fist.

"Hey, quiet down! The walls here are not soundproof!"

I turned to the speaker. There is a trace of annoyance on his face as well as in his voice. I just apologized for the noise I made.

"Mr., do you need something?"

I turned to the speaker. A woman noticed me. It looks like she's from the mall based on the plastic bags she's carrying.

"Uh... I... Do you happen to see the man who's living here?" I asked. At first, I was hesitant because she might not know Aiden, but in the end, I still asked because there was nothing to lose if I tried.
