Chapter 66 – I want us to love better than your parents or mine ever did

Maeve glanced at Gabriel for a second but it felt like a century before she reluctantly joined her hand to that of Dylan.

She intentionally left her handbag behind and Gabriel quickly wrote a note, stuffed it inside before catching up and giving it to her.

“Maeve, you should be careful with your belongings,” he said in a cold tone, engaged in a cold glare with Dylan, who flashed him his teeth implants that looked better than his original teeth through a smile.

Gabriel did not smile back but only held his gaze to give Maeve the time to read the note.

‘Relax. I know that you don’t love him. I believe your parents are there anyway.’

Maeve smiled but she wasn’t sad because of what she thought Gabriel would feel but the fact that she missed their usual goodbye kiss which soothed her every time they weren’t together or she went to bed alone.

However, she still wanted to assure him that she got the message and said,

“Dylan, let’s go. The food will be getting cold.”
