CHAPTER 42: GREATEST REASON

Did I just fucking confess? Am I a fucking teenager? It feels awkward, but as soon as I said it out loud, I felt a sense of relief and freedom.

I could see the surprise in her eyes.

"What?" I asked, playing it cool

"Nothing," she cleared her throat. "I thought you said something funny."

Sometimes, her logic makes me realize how precious she is. She brings out a side of me that I never knew existed.

The more time I spend with her, the more I discover about myself.

"That, what? That I'm in love with you?" I confidently responded, noticing her breath hitch. "You heard right, baby. Why else would you be here with me? I'll do whatever it takes to keep you by my side."

She licked her reddening lips, placed her empty cup down, and clutched the blanket that was the only thing saving me from losing my mind.

What we shared on the yacht was phenomenal, and it's a memory I'll cherish for the rest of my life.
